Xiamen shopping tax refunds: JD MALL and departure steps
Start here
- At Xiamen JD MALL, ask whether your exact product and invoice qualify before paying. Public store-service information is labelled as a report below.
- Eligible overseas visitors can apply with a passport or another accepted travel document. Qualifying purchases must total at least CNY 200 at the same refund shop on the same day.
- A regular refund has a 90-day purchase-to-departure limit. An advance refund, called ‘instant refund’, has a 28-day departure limit and still needs departure clearance.
Xiamen JD MALL: confirm your purchase
SOURCE C / REPORTEDStore / traveller reportNON-OFFICIALOur Xiamen store reference is JD MALL, Huli store (京东MALL厦门湖里店). A public travel guide mentions tax-refund enquiries at its second-floor customer service centre. The address is 101 Jinhu Road, Huli District, also listed in a retailer’s official store directory.
Ask staff to confirm the eligible item, invoice issuer, application desk and opening hours. This store-service reference has not been independently verified by a completed refund transaction. Readers have also reported seeing refund information in the JD app.
- Confirm whether the store can issue a departure tax-refund application for your passport and this purchase.
- Confirm whether the service is a regular departure refund or an instant refund; the two processes have different deadlines.

Check your eligibility
SOURCE AOfficial sourceCHINA- You must meet the overseas-visitor definition, including a stay of no more than 183 days since your most recent entry when you depart.
- Use your own valid passport or other accepted travel document, with information that establishes your last entry date.
- Buy eligible goods yourself from a registered refund shop; same-day purchases at that shop must total at least CNY 200.
- For a regular refund, depart within 90 days of purchase and take the goods with you in hand luggage or checked baggage.
- The goods must remain unused and unconsumed at departure. A phone you activate and use during your trip may no longer meet this condition.
Regular departure refund
SOURCE AOfficial sourceCHINAA purchase receipt alone does not complete the refund process. Keep the actual tax-refund application and invoice information.
- At the shop, present your travel document and obtain the sales invoice and tax-refund application. Check the purchase and identity details.
- At a departure port with refund service, follow Customs instructions for verification of the goods and application.
- Complete the refund-agent process and confirm the payment method, service charge and amount payable in renminbi.
Instant refund: an advance payment
SOURCE AOfficial sourceCHINAParticipating instant-refund shops or service points may pay an advance equal to the refund amount after an agreement and credit-card preauthorisation. Confirm the accepted card, departure deadline and port before receiving it.
The 2026 measures extend the instant-refund departure period to 28 days. Complete the required departure checks and the agent’s clearance so the card guarantee can be released.
Leaving Xiamen and changing cities
SOURCE AOfficial sourceCHINAXiamen Gaoqi International Airport and Wutong Ferry Terminal are listed among Fujian’s refund-service ports. Tell the shop which port you will use, and check its current desk location and service hours before travelling.
Since 1 July 2026, instant-refund mutual recognition covers Hunan, Fujian (including Xiamen), Guangdong (including Shenzhen), Guangxi and Hainan. Your agreement and the available departure-refund ports still matter when arranging a multi-city trip.
Digital records and inspection
SOURCE AOfficial sourceCHINAThe 2026 process supports electronic invoices and refund applications. Customs and the refund agent can check those records online; the shop should provide paper documents if requested.
Applications below CNY 10,000 in refund sales are subject to a proportion of physical inspections; applications at or above that amount still receive individual physical checks. Follow the instructions at departure even if your purchase is small.
Three questions before you pay
- Can you issue a departure tax-refund application for this item and my passport?
- Is an instant refund available, and what card guarantee does it require?
- Where do I complete the departure process, by which date, and what amount will I receive after fees?
